What is NDIS Nursing Services?
NDIS nursing services are NDIS funded clinical services delivered by a Nurse. At Regal we provide NDIS community nursing services and we come to you, to deliver nursing services in the comfort of your own home. Regal NDIS nursing services include:
- Nursing assessments
- Medication management
- Wound care
- Catheter care
- Continence support
- Intravenous therapy
- Enteral feeding
Regals NDIS community nursing services are delivered in the comfort of your own home. This enables Regal NDIS participants to receive high quality clinical support at home, and minimises their need to go to hospital or external practitioner for clinical care that can be safely delivered at home utilising NDIS nursing services funding. This means Regal community avoid waiting rooms, and get to remain safely at home.

Starting your NDIS nursing services journey with Regal
If you have a current NDIS Plan, and require clinical support in the community, or are interested to know more about how Nurses can support you, please contact Regal to make an enquiry to begin your NDIS nursing services journey.
Alternatively, Regal will receive a professional referral from your treating clinician, which could be a hospital, General Practitioner or specialist doctor, and we will be in contact with you, and the referring clinician to kick start your NDIS community nursing services. You can access our professional referral form here.
Once a referral or enquiry is received, Regal will contact you and your clinical team for more information on your NDIS nursing services which will be reviewed by the Regal Clinical Team. Depending on what NDIS nursing services are being requested, this could include:
- Hospital discharge summary
- General Practitioner health summary
- Relevant clinical reports
Once Regal has received this information, Regal Clinical Team will review and work with Regal Scheduling Team to assign appropriately skilled Nurses to your NDIS community nursing services. Regal Nurse will then conduct a Nursing Assessment, identifying anything that may be required to continue your services which could include required consumables and frequency and duration of visits.

What is the NDIS in Australia?
The NDIS stands for National Disability Insurance Scheme. The NDIS is a scheme of the Australian Government that funds cost associated with disability. The NDIS provides funding to eligible people with disability to gain more time with family and friends, greater independence, access to new skills, jobs, or volunteering in their community, and an improved quality of life.
The NDIS also connects anyone with disability to services in their community such as NDIS nursing providers). This includes connections to doctors, community groups, sporting clubs, support groups, libraries and schools, as well as providing information about what support is provided by each state and territory government.

Who is eligible to receive NDIS funded community nursing services?
NDIS nursing services are classified as Community Nursing Services by the NDIS and funded in an NDIS plan under two categories:
- Improved Daily Living (Capacity Building Budget)
- Assistance with Daily Live (Core Supports Budget)
NDIS encourages participants to utilise their Capacity Building budget for their NDIS community nursing services and only use their flexible Core budget when their Capacity Building budget is exhausted or set aside for other therapies.
What will the NDIS pay for?
The NDIS will pay for any nursing services which are deemed reasonable and necessary by the person developing your NDIS plan based on the evidence presented at your NDIS plan review and your NDIS plan goals.
Regal can provide evidence of necessity of community nursing services for your NDIS Plan review by providing you with a copy of your Nursing Assessment.

Who provides NDIS funded community nursing services?
NDIS nursing services are provided by organisations registered to provide health supports with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. Regal’s NDIS nursing services are delivered by Registered Nurses who undergo regular competency checks and are managed by Regal Clinical Governance structure. How much does NDIS community nursing cost?

I don’t have an NDIS Plan, how do I access in home nursing services?
If you believe you are eligible for the NDIS, start by speaking to your General Practitioner or other treating health professional on how to access the NDIS. The NDIS has available resources here: https://www.ndis.gov.au/participants. Accessing the NDIS may take some time, so in the meantime you can request Regal nursing services privately through our Private Care Program.
